New England
forests are crisscrossed by miles of stone walls built by nineteenth
century farmers to fence in livestock, mark property boundaries and clear
their fields of stone. Chris Tracy, local stonewall builder and landscape
designer, led a walk at the old Blossom Family farmstead in the Watuppa
Reservation to explore the history and restoration techniques for these
relics of New England's agricultural past. | ||
