The City of Fall River, working in cooperation with Partners for a Healthier Community, has embarked on a Healthy City Initiative to improve the overall health and well-being of our city. Visioning sessions were held throughout the City over the summer. Results from these sessions were summarized in 42 categories and people were asked to select their three highest priority items and to volunteer to work on future projects. Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Fall River was able to cast their "vote" at Government Center during the month of September or on-line. Results were reported to the Design Team meeting held on October 23rd at the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center on Martine Street. This team outlined the process by which the visioning process results will be transformed into a community-wide Strategic Plan at a Healthy Fall River Summit to be held at Bristol Community College in March. To read more about this project, see the article in the Herald News or click on the links at the bottom of this page.
