Safety and Substance Abuse:
Public safety has a direct
impact on community health. When crime is reduced, stress levels are lower.
When streets are safe, people feel confident using the sidewalks and parks
for exercise. When drug abuse declines, people are able to engage in
healthier activities and relationships.
The Priority Sub-Areas are:
1, A) increased community policing and personal
safety;
1, B) a drug-free community, including enforcement of tobacco laws;
1, C) reduction of gangs.
