Police-Youth Dialogues
Action Plan Participant:
Peaceful Coalition and Fall River Police Department
Members of the B.M.C. Durfee High School Peaceful Coalition sit down with Fall River police officers to engage in a structured dialogue designed to reduce gangs and increase communication and understanding between youth and law enforcement officials. Peaceful Coalition members have been engaged in a series of events including a retreat at the YMCA Camp Yomechas in Middleboro and a Hip Hop and basketball tournament with members of the police force. Discussion begin with an exercise in which the adults share some of their own experiences with school and a discussion of common concerns of both youth and police.

Classroom presentations that teach children to identify abusive situations and employ specific strategies to stop or prevent victimization
