The Shepherd’s Center, an interfaith volunteer non-profit group, holds a "Check-In With Us!" event as part of its six-week Lifetime Learning series held at the Bay View Home at 4380 North Main Street. Partnering with the Diabetes Association, the Shepherd Center staff monitored blood pressure, weight, blood sugar and the nutrition of the Lifetime Learning participants. Weekly monitoring is recorded in a "Passport to Aging in Health" booklet, encouraging participants to watch for things that can "stealthily" impact health if ignored. |
