Completion of Saint Anne’s Hospital all-new Emergency Department is nearing the finish line, with its third and final phase undergoing last-minute touch-ups before its anticipated early-February opening. A “President’s Tour” of the complete Emergency Department was held on January 19, 2011. Designed to care for the more than 40,000 patients who seek emergency care each year, the hospital’s new 17,000-square-foot Emergency Department offers patients of all ages and their families a spectrum of services in space that doubles the hospital’s emergency care capacity. Opened in phases since its groundbreaking in April 2010, Saint Anne’s new, fully complete ER replaces a facility built in the 1980s, with a full range of capabilities and amenities for patients young and old. Staff from both Project Assert and from Project Assist help patients connect with a variety of substance abuse and mental health resources in the community. Click here for the Herald News article.
