Nutrition
educators from the University of Massachusetts Extension Nutrition Education Program
in Fall River offered their fifth cooking demonstration at the Downtown
Farmers' Market on August 11, 2011 with a summer vegetable fried rice
dish prepared with produce from the Canuel Farm in Somerset. Nutrition
educators Lindsey Magan and Jessica Wilcox visited
the Canuel Farm earlier in the week to select the produce for this
week's demonstration. "This dish combines the flavors of fresh
tomatoes, corn and broccoli with the flavor of ginger and garlic to create
a very flavorful dish," reported UMass
nutrition educator Lindsey Megan. Visits to farms and the cooking demonstrations
are filmed
each week and aired on Fall
River Government Channel on cable television. Click
