Roosevelt University, located on Michigan Avenue across the street from the Art Institute and Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, was the location of the Society for Community Research and Action (Division 27 of the American Psychological Association) 13th Biennial Conference held between June 16th and 19th, 2011. The conference features presentations by community psychologists and others on various topics related to promoting health and empowerment and to preventing problems in communities, groups, and individuals. While visiting Chicago, Healthy City Fall River coordinator David S. Weed, Psy.D. presented a poster entitled "An integrated design approach to coordinating multiple prevention efforts in a single community" in order to share progress with the initiative with conference attendees. Dr. Weed also attended several presentations on innovative approaches to improving community health. For more information, contact Dr. Weed at 508-324-2411. |
