More than 1400 runners, including over three dozen Fitness Challenge participants, took part in the 17th Annual Officer Thomas J. Giunta Memorial 5K Road Race on beautiful spring Sunday, on April 3, 2011. Beginning at Bank and High Streets, Challenge racers headed up High Street on the 5K course that ended on Bedford Street following weeks of work-outs with Personal Trainer Amy Jones of  Where Is The Work-Out. The race is run annually as a scholarship fundraiser in memory of Officer Thomas Giunta who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 1994. It provides a terrific opportunity for heart healthy activity, both at the race and the weeks of preparation leading up to it. Click here to see race results. Click here to see a video of the race.
