The
Fall River
Fitness Challenge held its 2011 Finale at the Eagle Performing Arts
Center on May 20th, celebrating the conclusion of the four-month series that began on
January 8th. Participants and their supporters listened
as Massachusetts Promise Fellow
Annemarie Sharkey emceed the gala event that ended with the award of prizes for the
winning participants. Fall River Mayor William Flanagan praised the
contestants for their willpower and resiliency.
Healthy City Fall River
coordinator David Weed awarded the Family
Service Association for their high level of employee participation. Community Development Recreation
program director Jamison
Souza emceed the award of the individual awards, including second place
to Richard Cormier for a 26.1% weight loss and first place to Jeff Caron
