Bristol
County District Attorney
Sam Sutter expanded his offerings of free sports activities to add a Family
Fitness and Fun Day at the UMass-Dartmouth Tripp
Athletic Center on March 19, 2011 in which over 250 people
participated. Introduced by NBC Television's Biggest Loser contestants Mark
and Jay Kruger and emceed by former Red
Sox pitcher Brian Rose, who now works for Sutter, the four-hour
session included a Zumba warm-up, sports fun with UMass head coaches, an
obstacle course with the UMass Fitness Team, nutrition and cooking
demonstrations and health screening provided by Saint
Anne's Hospital. "I've become a huge believer in the value of
physical fitness as I get older," commented Sutter, who plans to hold
similar events throughout Bristol County in the coming months. Since
2007, Sutter has sponsored a number of free sports clinics, which have
benefited 2,400 children across Bristol County. Click
