Members of the Diman Regional Vocational High School’s Junior Class Committee organized a “Stomping Out Cancer One Paw at a Time Walk” on May14, 2011 at the Diman athletic field. Over 300 people showed up to walk twelve laps around the Diman track (three miles) to raise funds to donate. Proceeds from the event went to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Along with the walk there was food and beverages, live entertainment, a health fair, games, face painting and craft stations. Displays from over a dozen agencies offered information on a variety of health resources. Participants who preregistered with a minimum $5.00 donation received a free t-shirt. "It was a terrific event," reported event organizer and Junior Class Advisor Suzanne Ramos. Over $7,000 was raised over the course of the day. Click here for the video of the event.
