With reduced gym class hours and more time spent indoors, children today have fewer opportunities to learn and participate in children's games that were once popular on playgrounds. Members of Team FRESH and PLOT teamed up at CD-REC on February 18, 2010, during the winter vacation week to organize a series of Winter Games. Nearly seventy children from the  Citizens for Citizens After School Day Care program joined dozens of children from the community to participate in games of freeze dancing, capture the flag, jumping jacks competition, freeze tag, basketball free-throws, long jumps and relay races. "This is a wonderful opportunity for children to burn off some energy while learning some new games," commented commented Eloise Carrier of the Citizens for Citizens After School Day Care program.
