of the B.M.C. Durfee High School
Peaceful Coalition,
and the Fall River
Housing Authority Family and Youth Services held a Kick-off to a
Peaceful Summer at the Bank Street Armory on June 25, 2010. The event
included remarks by
Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan, Police Chief Daniel Racine, Housing
Authority Executive Director Tom Collins and Family and Youth Services
Director Joey DaSilva, Durfee High School Principal Paul Marshall, Brian
Rose, Youth Services Director Christian McCloskey and Peaceful Coalition student advisors
Tom Khoury and Paul Leite. Each speaker emphasized the importance
of resolving conflict without violence. Funding for the event was provided by the
Shannon
Initiative Street Outreach Program.
