Despite the
cloudy weather, the
HealthFirst Family Care Center,
a non-profit community health center, held their sixth Annual Family
Fun in the Sun event on June 5, 2010. These
free annual events are designed to emphasize the importance of increased
physical activity, good nutrition and summer safety for the entire
family. Activities
included music and exercising to music provided by DJ Mike Cordeiro of
MC Music Productions.
HealthFirst and Fall River WIC Program
staff members offered crafts, games, and healthy refreshments. Staff from United
Neighbors provided face painting and free coloring books designed by
staff member Kristin Gunderson.
Fall River Police Department
officers and members of the Mount Hope Lodge of Masons provided a child identification
program that included video, DNA samples, dental impressions and
fingerprinting.
