Steppingstone, Inc. held its eighth annual 5K Walk for the Homeless on August 21, 2010. Proceeds from this walk have been essential to operations of Steppingstone's First Step Inn emergency shelter program located on North Main Street , Fall River . The Inn provides safe shelter, nutritional meals and case management services to homeless individuals in our community. Showing her support for the First Step Inn, Senator Joan Menard participated in the walk. People walked with their children and even pets in support of the homeless and First Step Inn . Following the walk, a generous donation from Dominos Pizza provided pizza for all of the walkers. Radio station B101 was there and provided prizes. There were over 100 raffle prizes awarded to walkers raising pledges. When all contributions from sponsors and walkers were totaled, Get Steppin' raised $47,000 to help support operations of the First Step Inn for another year. Click here for the Herald News article.
