The
2010
Fitness Challenge, the third offered by the
Diabetes Association, Inc.
(DAI), Children In
Balance, Community Development Recreation
(CD-REC),
the
Fall River YMCA and Healthy
Lives Fall
River, held its initial weigh-in and health fair on January 9th at
the Veterans' Memorial on Bank Street. Nearly 400 people took advantage of
the opportunity to pick up information on the Children in Balance program, the
Diabetes Association, Inc.
(DAI), the Fall River
Tobacco Control program, the
Fall River YMCA, HealthFirst
Family Care Center,
Healthy Lives,
and the WIC
program. They could also see a cooking demonstration by Chef Jessica
Williams and get a free massage from Kneadful Things
therapist Raven Pina! Staff from Southcoast Hospitals
and the Diman School of
Practical Nursing were also on hand to provide free blood pressure,
cholesterol and blood glucose screening. Click
