The
2010
Fitness Challenge, the third offered by the
Diabetes Association, Inc.
(DAI), Children In
Balance, Community Development Recreation
(CD-REC),
the
Fall River YMCA and Healthy
Lives Fall
River, held its second Fitness Challenge on February 6, 2010. CD-REC
program director Jamison Souza challenged teams
and individuals to walk from CD-REC headquarters on Bank Street down the
hill to Battleship Cove and
then to walk the mile-long boardwalk to the Iwo
Jima Memorial monument at Bicentennial
Park and back to CD-REC. Over twenty-five Challenge participants took
advantage of the opportunity to increase their fitness despite the wintry
weather. The Challenge continues for another ten
weeks until the May 7th finale. Click
