The
Power
2 Save Lives Coalition in Fall River teamed up with with Pathway to
Prevention in New Bedford to sponsor a day-long Addictions Symposium at
Bristol Community College on March 5, 2010. The event brought nearly 100
professionals to participate in two sessions, one focused on
understanding addition and one focused on understanding opioid overdose.
The session on addiction covered office-based opioid treatment. The
presentation on overdose explored myths about overdoses, identifying overdose risk factors, and
ways to prevent and effectively respond to the crisis. The event was
sponsored by the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health Bureau for Substance Abuse Services. For more information about the project, contact Project Coordinator
Jenna Lagasse at 508-324-2415. |
