As part of the
2009
Fitness Challenge sponsored by the
Diabetes Association, Inc.
(DAI), Community Development Recreation
(CD-REC), and Healthy City Fall
River, the
Fall River YMCA has been offering
Zumba, a low-impact fitness workout held to Latin and international music
on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Friday's at 6:30 p.m. Led on Tuesdays by
YMCA fitness trainer
Tabitha Gendreau and on Fridays by Alainna Cochrane, participants go
though a variety of heart-healthy moves designed to stretch and tone the
whole body.
The
YMCA
is also offering a very low rate of $2 for other exercise classes,
including yoga, step aerobics and Pilates, and the use of their pool
during the Fitness Challenge period that runs until May 9th. For more
