PARTNERS | HEALTHY CITY  | HOW HEALTHY | VISION | SUMMIT | PRIORITIES | FUNCTIONS | CITY OF FALL RIVER

Following one of many snow storms during the winter of 2009, children throughout the City took advantage of Fall River's many hills to enjoy a day of sledding. Some of the best sledding is in the City's parks, including North Park along President Avenue and and the lower part of Kennedy Park near Broadway where the hills offer non-stop fun in a safe environment clear of obstacles and traffic. This heart-healthy activity ensured plenty of fun mixed with the inevitable long climb back up the hill, sled in tow. No one has to fund an anti-obesity program under these circumstances! Even the parents get into the act. Click here for photos of sledding in Kennedy Park during the Blizzard of 2005.
