A crew from
Manuel R.
Pavao Contracting Inc. in Rehoboth, working with
L & S Industries in
Acushnet, worked on sidewalk installation along Walnut Street in April,
2009. The work was funded by the City's Chapter 90 funds along with
assistance from the Water Department as it completed new water main
installation in the area. "This repair work
helps to get more people walking
throughout the City," stated Michael Ramos,
Wellness Coordinator for Fall River who is currently marking each of
the
ten
designated walking routes. The Healthy Lives
project funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is
encouraging people to take advantage of
them in order to increase their activity levels as part of the Mass In
Motion effort. For
more information about the walking program,
contact Mike at 508-324-2410 |
