The
Friends of Heritage State Park, in conjunction with the
Department of Conservation
and Recreation, invited the community to meet with and learn more
about our public safety and services agencies, program and products at Public Safety Day
held on May 16, 2009 at
Heritage State Park.
The event featured displays by Fall River Police, Fire and EMT
personnel and other public safety organizations including the
Bristol County Sheriff and
Bristol County
Mosquito Control offered the public a chance to learn ways of
increasing their own safety. Human service agencies, including
Children In Balance, the
HealthFirst
Family Care Center,
SSTAR Family
Healthcare Center, the Fall
River Housing Authority, and
the Samaritans, were
also on hand to offer information. Parents were able to have their
children fingerprinted with the Sheriff's office for future
identification.
