Over 1,500
people gathered at Diman Regional
Vocational Technical High School on May 16, 2009 to for the 11th
Annual Get Moving walk to raise
money for the
St. Anne's Hospital
regional cancer program. Saint Anne's Hospital CEO
Joseph
E. Ciccolo, Jr.
introduced Karyl Benoit and Kyra Cordeiro, organizers of the event, to
get the walkers started on the 3.5 mile route through the
streets around the high school in the City's North End. Fundraising
teams led by Title Sponsor Anthony Cordeiro and his team from the
Cordeiro Insurance Agency
helped to raise over $157,000 at the event, which, combined with the
$784,311 raised in the past ten years, brings the total raised to close
to $1 million in donations.
