The
Corrigan
Mental Health Center in Fall River commemorated
Earth Day on April 22, 2009, by
cleaning up a highly littered area off Elsbree Street in the City’s
north end. This marks the fifth year in a row that
Department of Mental Health (DMH) group residence clients have
chosen to spend the morning of April 22nd picking up litter. DMH
was joined again this year by
Fellowship Health Resources Inc. while the
City of Fall River
supplied gloves, rakes and brooms. A local
Papa Gino’s restaurant
offered a great deal on lunch capping a successful collaborative
community effort. It bears noting that three areas from previous years
remain litter free, even though they encounter a high volume of traffic
from high school and college students.
