The Corrigan Mental Health Center in Fall River commemorated Earth Day on April 22, 2009, by cleaning up a highly littered area off Elsbree Street in the City’s north end. This marks the fifth year in a row that Department of Mental Health (DMH) group residence clients have chosen to spend the morning of April 22^nd picking up litter. DMH was joined again this year by Fellowship Health Resources Inc. while the City of Fall River supplied gloves, rakes and brooms.  A local Papa Gino’s restaurant offered a great deal on lunch capping a successful collaborative community effort. It bears noting that three areas from previous years remain litter free, even though they encounter a high volume of traffic from high school and college students.
