The
Fall River office of the Massachusetts
Department of Transitional Assistance held it's first human
services resource fair at its offices at 1567 North Main Street
on September 17, 2009. Full engagement worker Philip Martin and
vocational specialist Celia Frazier contacted local human
service agency representatives and invited them to set up
display tables in a room off of the waiting area in the DTA
office so that people could learn more about the wide array of
services offered in Fall River. "We've never done this
before," commented Martin, "but I had attended several
other similar fairs and decided we could do the same right
here," he said. Agencies represented included Arbour
Counseling Services, Big
Friends Little Friends, BOLD,
Children
In Balance,
Citizens for
Citizens Head Start, the District
Attorney's Office, Dress
for Success, the Fall
River Housing Authority, Power
2 Save Lives, and the Women,
Infants and Children (WIC) program. For further information,
contact Philip
Martin or Celia
Frazier at 508-646-6200.
