The
Latino Support Group Meeting, sponsored by
SSTAR and
the
Diabetes Association, Inc.
(DAI),
presented testimony from a ‘real person’ with
diabetes who has 'walked in
diabetes shoes' on April
22, 2009 at the DAI headquarters at 170 Pleasant Street.
Samuel
Vainberg, an A1C Champion for
Sanofi-Aventis,
has diabetes and shared his personal experiences and helpful insights on
successfully managing diabetes. Speaking
entirely in Spanish on the topic
“Taking Control” from the perspective of someone who has
diabetes, he addressed many of the concerns of those in the audience. Topics covered include
the importance of good blood sugar control, effective self-management,
and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Click here
