In recognition of the
national Week of the Young
Child, Fall River child
care provider agencies and Child Care Works invited parents of young
children to join them on April 16, 2009, at the
Boys and Girls Club on Bedford
Street. The annual event features developmentally-appropriate activities
from each of the programs in an activity "trade show" format. "We plan
this to create community awareness around child care services and to
generate support for affordable, accessible quality child care for all,"
commented Eloise Carrier of the
Citizens for
Citizens Head Start program who helps to organize the event every
year. Participating
organizations included the Antioch School,
the Child Development Program,
Head Start,
Family Service
Association, John E. Boyd Center, Kid's World Learning Center,
KinderCare Learning Center, King Philip Community House Preschool, Ninth
Street Day Nursery, People Inc.,
Rainbow Bears Child Care Center, W.O.R.D. Inc. Child
Care Center and the
WIC program.
