Participants in
the 4thChallenge Event of the
2009
Fitness Challenge gathered at CD-REC
on Bank Street on a gorgeous sunny spring day with temperatures
in the 60s for their walk to Bicentennial Park on March 7, 2009. Walkers
had spectacular views of Heritage Park,
the Battleship
USS Massachusetts, and the Taunton River from the mile-long
boardwalk. Executive Director
Grace Gerling, who ran the entire course, said
"This was a terrific workout for those who have been getting in shape
during the four-month Challenge and a perfect way to take advantage of
the unusually warm spring day." The overall five-mile course
included two one-mile round trips along the boardwalk to Bicentennial
Park, as well as a long walk to the park from Bank Street. All were
happy to get back for the raffle drawing following the event. For
further information about the Challenge, contact CD-REC at
508-679-0522 or Program Director
Grace Gerling by e-mail. |
