The second of three neighborhood block parties sponsored by Mayor Robert Correia and
Community Development Recreation was held at Chew Park on July 31,
2008. The parties promote City programs and bring the neighborhood
together with activities and music during the summer.
The
event included pony rides, face painting, arts & crafts, carnival games,
as well as many other activities. DJ Joshua Berube of
Sound Skillz provided
the music. Human service
organizations taking part included the
Fall River Police Department,
South Bay
Early Intervention,
HealthFirst,
WIC,
FSA Big
friends, Little Friends, the City's Youth Services
Team
F.R.E.S.H., and the
District
Attorney's Office Community Affairs Unit who was on hand to recruit
children for the
