Patrons
of
Tim
Hortons restaurant on Newton Street were treated to some unusual
entertainment on August 18, 2007, as chainsaw sculptor Mike Higgins
carved a giant coffee cup in front of the establishment. Mike, who does
educational programs for local students, used a variety of
techniques to create the display from 35" pine logs obtained from Dave
Durfee's mill. Mike was invited by Tom Medeiros, owner of the
establishment that held a grand opening earlier in the year. Tom also
invited representatives of the
Family
Service Association Big Friends Little Friends program to conduct a
raffle during the event. Nutritional
information for all of Tim Hortons food is available on their
website
and information is available on substitutions, vegan diet choices and
low-sugar items for diabetics.
