As part of the national Make a Difference Day, held on the last Saturday in October each year, students from Morton Middle School were invited to participate in a three-on-three basketball tournament at the Durfee High School gym on October 27, 2007. In order to participate, students had to bring in a canned good that was donated to the Fall River Food Bank. Then, with the assistance of Durfee High School basketball team members, students formed three-person teams and hit the courts for some healthy exercise. Youth Services Coordinator Christian McCloskey and members of the Youth Outreach team served as coaches for the games that lasted for two hours. Click here, here, and here to see some of the other Make a Difference Day activities that took place that day. For more information, contact Christian McCloskey at 508-324-2419
