The fourth annual 5K
Children’s Wellness Walk and Atlantis Charter School Health Awareness
Day was held on May 5, 2007, to nurture and to educate every child
in the greater Fall River area, and encourage their participation in
fitness demonstrations to develop a healthy lifestyle. The walk and fair
provided direct access to safety and civic personnel, fun, and
interactive educational booths, spinal screening, backpack fitting and
instruction as well as community participant demonstrations. The
event was part of the Atlantis Charter School’s Health Awareness Day, an
interactive health and fitness fair. The first walkers to register
for the Wellness Walk received a free pedometer and T-shirt.
