Eighty-three students from adult learning programs received their certificates at a graduation ceremony held at Bristol Community College on June 5, 2007. The BCC Adult Basic Education Program celebrates the accomplishments of students who earned their high school diploma by successfully completing national GED examinations. The American Council on Education cites that one of every seven people who graduate each year earn that diploma by passing GED tests. This year, BCC partnered with the Workforce Investment Board, the Fall River YMCA and local public schools to offer GED classes in reading, writing, mathematics and language development to help students reclaim the education they missed. For more information about the program, contact Diane McMullen at 508-678-2811, Ext. 2274.
