Members of
the Fall
River Adult Literacy Partnership held their first meeting of the
2007-2008 academic year on November 13, 2007 at
Bristol Community College
(BCC).
Center for Adult Education and Workplace Literacy director Diane
McMullen distributed new desk reference guides to members of the
Partnership with the request that they distribute them at various
locations throughout the community. "This is a comprehensive guide to
all of the resources that are available to adults needing literacy
services," noted McMullen. The guide includes information on literacy
programs offered by
YouthBuild,
SER-Jobs, 21st Century,
My turn,
YMCA Even Start, HealthFirst,
Steppingstone,
Career Center,
May Institute,
Citizens for Citizens, Immigrant
Assistance, Stanley Street Treatment and
Resources,
United Neighbors and the Fall
River Housing Authority in addition to resources provided through
BCC. For copies of the guide or for more information, contact
Ms. McMullen at
508-678-2811, Ext. 2274. |
