The
Greater Fall River Board of
Realtors held its first 5K Run/Walk at Heritage State Park on
September 23, 2006, to benefit the
YouthBuild Fall
River program. Despite the morning's light drizzle, walkers and
runners got a break in the weather to enjoy the heart-healthy 3.2 mile
course that ran along both sides of Davol Street from Central Street to
President Avenue. The final legs of the race took walkers and runners
along scenic water views of Mount Hope Bay. The funds raised
by the event which will assist the
YouthBuild program, a ten-month
construction skills training curriculum for men and women ages 17-24 who
have not completed high school. For more information about the program,
contact YouthBuild Director Terry Moran
at 508-678-1975. |
