The second
Quequechan
River Festival was held on September 24, 2006, in Britland Park along
the shores of the River. The day included plenty of heart healthy activities such as
kayaking, canoeing, rock wall climbing and sack races. Educational
exhibits, food, entertainment, balloon animals, face painting, reptile
exhibits, pony rides, and archery rounded out the day's events designed
to highlight the river and its recreation potential. The local
environmental advocacy group who sponsored the festival along with the
City of Fall River, Green Futures,
is working to create a greenbelt along the river and to daylight the
falls that lead into Mt. Hope Bay. Click
