Landscape Architect Martha Lyon of Landscape Architecture LLC in Northampton and Karle Packard of Red Hawk Studio Architecture in Concord presented their $30,000 architectural study of the 28-acre North Park on May 30, 2006, to Mayor Edward M. Lambert, Jr. A grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission's Preservation Projects Fund helped to fund the study. Plans call for improvements that would be made to the park that was originally designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and constructed in 1902. The park is extensively used by local residents.  Improvements have already been made to Kennedy Park, also designed by Olmstead. Mayor Lambert is calling for a June meeting, which will be open to the public, to solicit comments and feedback on the plans. Click here for the Herald News article.
