The streets of
Fall River do not clean themselves. It takes the efforts of thousands of
individuals who contribute their time and skills to see that things look
their best. Below are three examples of those thousands of projects that
contribute to the city looking good. The
Department
of Public Works, city
street
cleaning, and the
summer work crews
do their part, but things work best when everyone who lives and works in
the city volunteer some of their time for the benefit of all. Projects
like Earth
Day, the annual St. Anne's
Mission Day,
clean-ups and
plantings
at the city "gates", the
Bay Street
Clean-up, and the
North Park
clean-up by Morton Middle School students. If you live or work in
Fall River, ask yourself what you have done lately to make the city a
cleaner place. Any group who wants assistance with tools and trash
pick-up anywhere in the city can call Government Center at 508-324-CITY
(324-2489) to arrange to have the Department of Public Works deliver
gloves and bags and to pick up trash bags at any event. Why not organize
a clean up project in your neighborhood? Its great exercise, and it
improves the quality of life for everyone in the City! |
