The Fall River Street Tree Planting Program held its first Art contest to promote the stewardship of trees through art and to show how trees benefit the community. The exhibit and award ceremony was held at Heritage Park near Battleship Cove in Fall River. Artwork was on display during the two weeks preceding the ceremony that was held on Arbor Day, April 29th. Mayor Edward M. Lambert, Jr. was on hand to assist with the presentation of awards given in three categories: painting, drawing and photography.
