The
Diabetes
Association of Fall River and New Bedford is again offering its
popular "Families Preventing Diabetes: Keep Moving!" each week from 6:30
to 8:00 p.m. at the Southcoast Wellness Center, 250 Faunce Corner Road,
in North Dartmouth (just off Route 195). This six-week program for is
designed for children ages 10-14 and their families who may be at risk
for developing Type 2 diabetes. Participants learn how to prevent
diabetes in their family, learn healthy nutrition, and participate in
fun activities like hip-hop dancing, aqua aerobics, volley ball, and
swimming. The cost is only $5 per week per family and scholarships are
available. No one get turned down! Registration is needed, so anyone who
is interested should call Bill at 508.672.5671.
